Terms of Service

Last updated: Oct 11, 2026

This is an English translation. If it differs from the 繁體中文版 (the Traditional Chinese version), the Traditional Chinese version prevails.

Welcome to Martha, sit (the “Service”). The Service is run by an individual, Hsueh-Han Lee (the “Operator,” “we,” or “us”). By using the Service, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy.

1. The Service

The Service is a hosted serving schedule tool that lets church team members view and plan schedules. It’s available as an iOS app, an Android app, and a web app.

The Service is designed for churches, for team members only, not for the wider congregation. Groups that aren’t churches (such as organizations or fellowships) may use it too, but its features and wording are built around churches, and we won’t adapt it for other uses.

2. Accounts

  • You can sign up with a Google account, an Apple account (iOS), or email.
  • Please use your real name and keep your sign-in method secure. Anything done with your account is treated as done by you.
  • Whoever creates a church becomes its admin. Other team members join through an admin’s invite link.

3. Fees and supporting the platform

  • The Service is free and has no paid features.
  • The iOS and Android apps offer one-time tips and subscriptions to support running the Service. These aren’t gifts to any church. Every feature is the same whether or not you support; subscribers only get a badge that they alone can see and alternate app icons. The web app doesn’t offer tips or subscriptions.
  • Payments, renewals, and subscription cancellations are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their terms. Please request refunds from Apple or Google; the Operator can’t issue refunds directly.
  • Tipping or subscribing doesn’t mean the Operator makes any additional commitment about the Service’s availability.

4. Rules of use

When using the Service, you may not:

  • break the law, or violate others’ privacy, reputation, or other rights;
  • put other people’s personal data into the Service without their consent;
  • impersonate another church’s name, or register a church name first to keep others from using it;
  • upload illegal, violent, sexual, harassing, or discriminatory content (including church names and logos);
  • try to access data from churches or accounts that aren’t yours, or interfere with, attack, or reverse engineer the Service’s systems;
  • use automated programs to access the Service in bulk and place an unreasonable load on it;
  • repackage the Service as a commercial product to sell or sublease.

5. Admin responsibilities

Each church’s admins are responsible for managing their church’s team member data. Admins agree to:

  • get a person’s consent, or have another lawful basis, before adding them as a team member or putting them on the schedule;
  • use team members’ data (such as email) only as needed for scheduling, and not for anything else;
  • help when a team member asks to correct or delete their own data;
  • give admin rights only to people they trust.

For team member data and schedules, the church (through its admins) decides whose data is collected and for what purpose; the Operator provides the system according to the church’s settings and stores and processes this data on the church’s behalf.

6. Operator actions

To deal with abuse, violations of these terms, name squatting, or disputes, the Operator may, without prior notice:

  • rename a church;
  • suspend a church (while suspended, team members can’t use that church, and its data is kept);
  • transfer a church’s admin rights to another team member;
  • suspend accounts that violate these terms.

When a church is created with the same name as an existing church, the system warns about it and blocks it. If someone else has already registered your church’s name, please contact us, and we’ll handle it after looking into it.

7. Availability

The Service is run by one person in their spare time and is provided on a best-effort basis. We don’t guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that data will never be lost. We may change, suspend, or end some or all features at any time. If we decide to shut down the Service, we’ll try to announce it early so churches have time to export their data: unless the law requires otherwise or circumstances are beyond our control, we’ll post a notice on the Service’s website at least 30 days before it ends.

Please keep your own backup of important serving schedules.

8. Deleting accounts and churches

  • Leaving a church: If you’re not an admin, you can leave yourself in the app. To come back, you’ll need a new invite.
  • Deleting your account: You can delete your account yourself in the app. This deletes your sign-in account, your account data, and your team member status in every church. Names already on schedules are kept as plain text. If you’re the only admin of a church, you need to hand it over to someone else first.
  • Deleting a church: A deleted church is kept for 30 days and can be restored during that time. After 30 days, it’s permanently deleted.

For exactly what gets deleted, see the Privacy Policy. Without the app, you can also make a request by following How to delete your account.

9. License and name

  • The Service’s source code is published under the MIT License.
  • The name “馬大別忙” (Martha, sit) and its icon are not covered by the MIT License. If you use the Service’s code to set up your own copy or modify it, please use a different name and icon.
  • Content that you and your church put into the Service (such as schedules and church logos) remains yours or your church’s. You agree that the Operator may store, process, and display this content to provide the Service.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • The Service is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of fitness for a particular purpose.
  • The Operator isn’t liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from using or being unable to use the Service, including lost data, scheduling mistakes, or missed serving.
  • The Operator’s total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the past 12 months.

Some places don’t allow certain liabilities to be excluded or limited. In those places, the limits above apply only to the extent the law allows.

11. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. When we do, we’ll update the “Last updated” date on this page; for significant changes, we’ll post a notice on the Service’s website at least 7 days before they take effect. If you keep using the Service after a change, you agree to the updated terms.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan). Any dispute arising from these terms or the Service shall be heard in the first instance by the Taiwan Taipei District Court, except where mandatory rules where you live, such as consumer protection laws, provide otherwise.
